Kastoria Aquarium
The Kastoria Aquarium is the largest freshwater aquarium in the Balkans and is undoubtedly one of the most attractive family-friendly spots in the city. Its exhibits showcase 56 species of freshwater fish, mostly native and endemic species of Lake Orestiada, as well as turtles, crayfish, newts, and other species. The experience is especially engaging for children: they learn about biodiversity and come face to face with endangered or threatened species, such as stone crayfish and sturgeon. It is a great opportunity to connect the lake you see from the outside with the ecosystem hidden within it.
