West Macedonia in the spotlight of DESTINATION WEDDING PLANNERS – Successful FAM TRIP with leading industry professionals
As part of the strategic promotion of West Macedonia as an emerging destination for weddings, events, and wine tourism, the Region of Western Macedonia, in collaboration with the Western Macedonia Tourism Organisation, organised the Fam Trip “Destination Wedding Planners in West Macedonia” on 11–12 November 2025.
The initiative brought together members of the Greek Destination Planners Association (GDPA) — eleven distinguished wedding professionals from across Greece, together with selected partners from the same sector. During their visit, participants experienced the region first-hand, discovering its landscapes, meeting local people, and enjoying a unique journey through its wine and gastronomy. The aim of the initiative was to showcase West Macedonia as an attractive destination for couples planning their wedding, as well as for high-end events.
As part of the programme, the participants met with local producers, event venues, and tourism professionals, strengthening links between the local tourism sector and the wedding industry while creating new opportunities for future collaboration.
The initiative aimed to position West Macedonia as a premium destination for wine tourism, weddings, and events by highlighting the region’s unique strengths and fostering targeted B2B partnerships that support the development of authentic, high-value visitor experiences.
Through such actions, the Deputy Region of Tourism, Culture and Environment fulfills the commitment of the Governor of Western Macedonia, Mr. Georgios Amanatidis, to enhance the region’s outreach.
