Dolgiras Mansion
The Dolgiras Mansion is one of the oldest and most atmospheric mansions in Siatista, built between 1700 and 1730. Its painted decoration was completed around 1840 by folk artists invited by its owner, Dimitrios Dolgiras, a prominent merchant originally from Constantinople. Following its renovation in 2003, the mansion was revived as a Folklore Museum under the care of the Cultural and Educational Association “Markides Pouliou.” Inside, each room unfolds as a small exhibition space, filled with objects more than 200 years old, donated by Siatistans from all over the world—offering a vivid glimpse into a way of life that balanced local tradition with European influences. The building itself, featuring its wooden ceilings, heavy doors, and noble atmosphere, is a work of art and one of the city’s finest architectural gems. A spot where culture, history, and collective memory intertwine.
