Fanoi
An experience you must live. On the Sunday of the Great Carnival, Velventos transforms into a dreamlike setting filled with flames, songs and colors, honoring one of the most characteristic customs of West Macedonia: the Fanoi. The Fanos of Velventos is lit in the central square as the peak of the carnival festivities. Locals and visitors alike gather around the great bonfire, singing traditional carnival songs, dancing and joining in a lively communal celebration that brings the entire community together.
