Botanical Museum of Siatista
The Botanical Museum of Siatista, housed in the historic building of the Trampantzeio Gymnasium, is a unique institution of its kind that sheds light on the biodiversity of Voio, with particular emphasis on the natural wealth of Mount Bourinos. Founded in 1989 and operating continuously since, the museum displays more than 700 panels and photographs of dried plants, and around 500 rare butterflies and reptiles, primarily from the “Mesiano Nero” valley. The collection, created through the efforts of the Siatista Mountaineering Club “Bourinos”, serves a dual purpose: providing environmental education and raising awareness on modern ecological challenges. It offers a quiet yet meaningful perspective on the region’s natural heritage.
