From 8 December to 8 January, Kastoria dresses in festive charm and invites you to experience a whole month filled with light, joy, and celebration. Following the lighting of the Christmas tree, a rich programme of events unfolds, featuring concerts, theatrical performances, outdoor activities, and themed guided tours that immerse visitors in the magic of the festive season. In “Magiki Limnopolitia” (“The Magical Lake Town”), children and adults alike step into a fairytale world filled with games, activities, and delightful surprises. At the same time, the city comes alive with traditional customs, gastronomic events, and music echoing through its streets. The celebrations culminate in the Ragoutsaria, Kastoria’s famous carnival—a vibrant spectacle of music, dance, and joyful revelry that welcomes the New Year and brings the festive season to a memorable close.
