AMYNTAS WINERY (Amyntas Wines)

If you wish to discover the story of Amyntaio through its wine, begin your journey at Amyntas Wines. Established in 1959, the first cooperative winery in Greece’s northernmost wine-growing region laid the foundations for Amyntaio’s modern winemaking identity. A defining moment came in 1971, when experimental production of sparkling wine from Xinomavro began. The results were so remarkable that the Amyndeon PDO wine region was officially recognised, giving rise to Greece’s first PDO rosé wine. Today, approximately 60 winegrowers continue this legacy, producing wines with contemporary methods and technology while preserving decades of tradition. During your visit, you will explore the historic section of the winery, discover the still and sparkling wine production facilities, and see how modern innovation meets generations of winemaking knowledge. The experience continues in the ageing cellar, where selected vintages mature in French and American oak barrels, before reaching the elegant tasting room with its Dionysian references. With a glass in hand, you will discover what makes Amyntaio a truly distinctive wine destination.
