Archaeological Site of the Hellenistic City of Florina

On the hill of Agios Panteleimon, just a few minutes from the city centre, lie the remains of an ancient city of the kingdom of Lygistida, founded in the 4th century BC. Traces of its past life are still visible today, with house foundations, storage jars, hearths, and iron workshops offering a vivid glimpse into everyday life in Hellenistic Macedonia. As you move through the site, the view over the modern city stretches out below, while the place itself exudes that unique sense of serenity found only in archaeological sites.
