Chapel of Agios Christophoros in Prosilio

Perched at an altitude of around 1,000 metres, the small chapel of Agios Christophoros in Prosilio offers breathtaking panoramic views over Lake Polyfytos. Reaching it, you quickly realise you are standing on one of the finest natural balconies in West Macedonia. The original chapel dates back to the 16th century and has preserved its remarkable frescoes, which are now carefully protected within a slightly larger, later structure built around it. This protective “outer shell” safeguards the historic interior, allowing visitors to experience both its historical depth and its timeless atmosphere in a single, harmonious setting.
