Church of Agia Paraskevi

On the road towards Palaiogratsano, southwest of Velvento, you come across the Church of Agia Paraskevi, a modest yet historically rich monument that quietly reveals another layer of the area’s past. Stepping inside the single-nave church, you will discover notable frescoes created by local artistic workshops, reflecting the expressive, anti-classical style that prevailed in Macedonia in the late 14th and early 15th centuries. A short stop here is enough to appreciate how closely intertwined spiritual life and artistic expression have been in this region—a heritage reflected in every corner.
