Church of Agios Dimitrios in Kozani

The Church of Agios Dimitrios is one of Kozani’s most beautiful and historic landmarks. As you approach, you will be impressed by its elegant architecture and distinctive bell tower, one of its most recognisable features. Although the present building dates to 1863, the church’s history stretches much further back, with origins believed to go back to Byzantine times. Stepping inside, you will discover two small chapels dedicated to Agios Panteleimon and Agios Lazaros, as well as sacred relics preserved within the church.
