Church of Agios Dimitrios in Aiani
Approximately 2 kilometers from Aiani, you will find the Byzantine church of Agios Dimitrios, dating between the 11th and 13th centuries. Some of its frescoes belong to that period, while others date to the 15th and 16th centuries. The three-aisled basilica functioned as the katholikon (main church) of a male monastery, a fact confirmed by an inscription in the sanctuary listing the names of the monks.
