Church of Agios Ioannis Chrysostomos in Paraskevi

In the heart of the village of Paraskevi stands the parish Church of Agios Ioannis Chrysostomos, patron saint of the area and a landmark of the community. It is a newly built church, constructed in the style of a three-aisled basilica on the site of an older church destroyed by the 1995 earthquake. Inside, your gaze will be drawn to the carved wooden iconostasis and the icons preserved from the earlier church, harmoniously incorporated into the new building, thus lending the building immense historical significance. If you visit on 13 November, you can take part in the celebrations honouring Agios Ioannis Chrysostomos, with a festive Vespers service followed by the Divine Liturgy.
