Church of  Ypapanti (Presentation of the Lord)

On the outskirts of the village of Laimos, the small single-aisled timber-roofed Church of Ypapanti (Presentation of the Lord) stands discreetly as a fine example of 16th-century ecclesiastical architecture. Built and decorated with frescoes in 1591 by a local workshop, it impresses with its simplicity and grace. Among its best-preserved wall paintings are the Platytera in the sanctuary, the scene of the Melismos, the Akra Tapeinosis, and the figures of Agios Stefanos, Agios Athanasios, Agios Symeon the Stylite, and Agios Kyrillos. It is undoubtedly well worth a visit.
