Ecclesiastical Museum of Siatista
Within the courtyard of the Metropolitan Residence, a bright exhibition hall preserves the art and faith of four centuries. Operating under the auspices of the Holy Metropolis of Sisani and Siatista, the Ecclesiastical Museum features icons dating from the 16th to the 19th century, as well as woodcarvings, vestments, works of minor art, books, and manuscripts from churches and monasteries of the region. Together, they trace Siatista’s connections with major artistic centres — from Constantinople and Venice to the Ionian Islands. Among the highlights of the collection are the Western-influenced Apocalypse by Theodoros Poulakis (17th century) and Epi soi chairei (In Thee Rejoiceth), a late 16th-century icon likely attributed to Georgios Klontzas. A Gospel cover printed in 1590, and ecclesiastical vestments adorned with delicate embroidery complete the collection, turning a visit to the museum into a journey through the religious, artistic, and intellectual history of Siatista.
