Epirus Pie Festival
Every September, the courtyard of the old elementary school in Langa fills with aromas and flavours during the Epirus Pie Festival, a celebration dedicated to one of Greece’s most beloved culinary traditions. Here, you can discover the secrets of traditional pie-making, as local women—the masterminds behind handmade phyllo pastry—prepare a wide variety of pies with care and authentic ingredients, offering you a true taste of Epirus cuisine. Live demonstrations, including the baking of pies in a traditional covered clay pot (gastra) and the preparation of laggites on a griddle, add an extra touch of authenticity to the celebration. Traditional Epirus music, quality local wine, and delicious treats create an atmosphere of warmth and hospitality, where flavours, memories, and local traditions come together in a celebration that reflects the true spirit of the region.
