Gourounochara (Pig Feast)
A custom deeply rooted in rural tradition, the Gourounochara of Vlasti is revived every December. It recalls old winter customs, when the preparation of the household pig during the Christmas period was an important moment in village life, ensuring supplies that would sustain families through the winter months. Today, the village comes together to prepare traditional pork delicacies such as tsigarides (crispy pork pieces cooked in their own fat), fried pork pieces, and sausages, turning the day into a lively gathering filled with music, hospitality, and a strong sense of shared tradition and collective memory.
