Hermitage of Osios Nikanoras
From the southeastern side of the Monastery of Osios Nikanoras in Zavorda begins the path that leads you lower down to the hermitage of Osios Nikanor—nestled in a recess of a vertical rock above the Aliakmonas River. The lower part of the two-storey building serves as the entrance area, and its staircase leads to the upper section, where there is a small vaulted church dedicated to Agios Georgios and a later structure of 1793. The frescoes preserved inside the skete date to the first and second half of the 15th century.
