Holy Monastery of the Dormition of the Theotokos in Kladorrachi

Just a short drive from Florina, in Kladorrachi, you will find the Monastery of the Dormition of the Theotokos. Built in the late 18th century, it once played an important role during the Macedonian Struggle, hosting meetings of local notables and guerrilla leaders. In the turbulent years that followed—marked by successive wars—it gradually fell into decline, with many of its buildings left in ruin. Today, however, the monastery is active once again, following its re-establishment in 1955 by the late Metropolitan of Florina, Vasileios, offering a serene place of reflection, and a strong sense of historical continuity.
