Kagelia bridge

On the road linking Trikomo and Monachiti, above the Venetikos River, rises the stone Bridge of Kangkelia, also known as the Bridge of Trikomo or Kastania. It is one of the largest double-arched bridges in the region that you will definitely stop and admire. With a length of 40.5 metres, a width of 2.8 metres and an arch reaching 10 metres in height, it impresses both in scale and solidity. Constructed from roughly hewn limestone blocks, its arches showcase fine stone craftsmanship. The triangular cutwaters on the central pier were designed to break the force of strong currents during floods. Likely dating to the 19th century, it stands today as a silent witness to another era.
