Lake Polyfytos
In the Regional Unit of Kozani, Lake Polyfytos stands out as an enchanting destination where natural beauty meets one of Greece’s most significant water-engineering projects. Created in the 1970s with the construction of the Polyfytos Dam on the Aliakmonas River, the lake stretches between the imposing mountains of Pieria, Vermio, and Askio, forming a landscape that captivates every visitor. A defining landmark is the High Bridge of Servia, approximately 1,372 metres long, connecting the two shores and creating the illusion of floating above the tranquil waters.
