Lakes Arrenes
At an altitude of 1,730 metres, on the slopes of the limestone peaks of Arena, lies the impressive twin-lake complex of Arrenes, also known as Moutsalia (from the Vlach words “moutsali”, meaning “wet”, and “arena”, meaning “sandy place”). Its untouched landscape and rich biodiversity invite you to explore the mountain wilderness and enjoy moments of tranquillity in a unique setting, accessible either via a passable dirt road or by hiking from the nearby village of Pefkofyto.
