Lazarines
On Lazarus Saturday in Korisos, the streets come alive with white traditional costumes and joyful voices echoing from every corner. These are the Lazarines—girls aged 3 to 15—who sing the Lazarus carols while carrying decorated baskets. Locals warmly welcome them, offering eggs that are later taken to the church, where they are dyed red and distributed to the faithful on Easter night. The custom culminates in a procession around the Church of Agios Georgios, accompanied by songs that herald the arrival of spring.
