Niaimeros – The great trade fair
Niaimeros is Kozani’s great autumn trade fair and one of the city’s longest-standing traditions. Its name echoes a time when people from across the region gathered over the course of nine days to discover goods brought from distant places, trade livestock, and enjoy attractions that were considered remarkable for their time. Today, Niaimeros is organised by the Municipality of Kozani and typically lasts four days. If you happen to be in the city in early October, you will have the opportunity to experience this lively celebration, where tradition and entertainment come together. Stroll among dozens of market stalls, browse a wide variety of goods, savour local delicacies freshly prepared on outdoor grills, and, if you are travelling with children—or simply feel young at heart—enjoy the excitement of the fairground rides.
