Potato Festival – Sklithro

Every August, the village of Sklithro celebrates one of the humblest yet most beloved products of the Macedonian land: the potato. At the height of summer, the Potato Festival brings together locals and visitors for a large open-air feast, where village women prepare traditional potato dishes — fried, boiled, baked, and stuffed. Sample these homemade specialities alongside local wine, while music, dancing, and laughter create an atmosphere that pays tribute to the farmers’ work and the simplicity of Macedonian life.
