Tranos Choros (Great Dance)
On 16 August, the day after the Dormition of the Theotokos, Kleisoura comes alive with one of its most important celebrations: the Tranos Choros, a festive gathering dedicated to livestock breeders and deeply rooted in Vlach tradition. Men and women, divided into two groups and dressed in traditional costumes, form a large circle. The dance begins with singing alone, without musical instruments, as alternating male and female voices fill the space with their powerful melodies. Experiencing this deeply atmospheric celebration, you will discover the strength and unity of a local tradition that has remained alive through the generations.
