Tsiatsiapa Mansion

On the northern side of the city, in the historic neighbourhood of Apozari, stands the imposing Tsiatsiapa Mansion, built in 1754. It is the only surviving three-storey mansion in Kastoria with a rectangular layout and a distinctive horizontal organisation. Its stone-built ground floor, timber-framed upper levels, and balconies overlooking the city and the lake reflect the architectural elegance of the 18th century. Inside, you will discover remarkable wall paintings, woodcarvings, and decorative details that bring together Byzantine tradition, Western European Baroque and Rococo influences, as well as elements of Oriental art inspired by the imperial palaces of Constantinople.
