Varikiotika – Variko
Each year, around 15 August, the village of Variko comes alive with the Varikiotika, a three-day cultural festival that fills the area with music, and aromas. From 13 to 15 August, locals and visitors gather in the village square for the renowned Bean Festival, where oven-baked beans — the star of the celebration — are served free of charge, accompanied by wine and a selection of local appetisers. The music never fades: traditional bands keep the rhythm alive for days, and dancing becomes a joyful celebration of life, the land, and the people who call it home.
