Watermill of Agios Germanos

Built in 1930, the traditional watermill of Agios Germanos is the only one of Prespa’s twenty historic watermills to have been fully restored and preserved to the present day. This single-storey stone building with its timber roof once served three different functions: it operated as a flour mill for grinding grain, a water-powered washhouse for cleaning woven textiles, and a fulling mill used to thicken and soften woollen cloth. Today, it is open to visitors, offering a vivid glimpse into rural life in Prespa and recalling a time when the rhythm of everyday life was powered by the flow of water.
