Zouzouli Bridge
At Kazania, near Zouzouli, stands the Zouzouli Bridge, built in 1880 to connect Zouzouli, Fourka, and Samarina with Pentalofos. It served as a key passage for merchants, travellers, and Vlach populations moving between Epirus and West Macedonia. Local tradition offers two accounts of its construction: one of them states that it was funded by a local muleteer in memory of his brother who drowned in the stream; according to the other, a local nobleman commissioned its construction after being moved by the drowning of a young girl. The bridge was built by craftsmen from the master-builder villages of Konitsa, who were renowned for their artistry. Measuring 25 metres in length, 8 metres in height, and with a 15-metres arch span, this single-arched bridge remained for decades a vital link between Zouzouli, Grevena, and Tsotili, as well as a key crossing Macedonia and Epirus. Today, although used mainly by a few shepherds during the summer, it remains in well preserved.
