Church of Agios Nikolaos in Vlasti

In Vlasti, you will come across the Church of Agios Nikolaos, the oldest Orthodox church in the settlement. Built in 1761, it is a stone-built three-aisled basilica distinguished by its majestic architectural simplicity. In the church courtyard, the busts of Agios Kosmas of Aetolia and Georgios Sinas stand prominently, reflecting the site’s close connection to the region’s historical and spiritual heritage. The church suffered severe damage during the Occupation and the Civil War, yet it was rebuilt through the care and support of the local community, preserving to this day its distinctive character.
